Plan Surgery

  • Preoperative tests and patient instructions: Their importance
  • Understanding the rationale, method, and approach for performing surgery on a patient.
  • Selecting Instruments: Criteria for choosing the best instruments to ensure optimal surgical outcomes.

Operation Theatre Preparation

  • Proper positioning of the patient, trolley, and surgical instruments.  
  • Selection of anaesthesia: identifying the type best suited for the surgical procedure. 
  • C-arm positioning, placement, and the critical role of the C-arm technician.  
  • Overview of the surgical procedure and post-operative care.  
  • Mastering hand movements for effective needle, scope, and instrument positioning.  
  • Essential precautions for handling scopes and other high-value instruments.  
  • Guidelines for determining the closure of surgery: timing and methods.  
  • Metrics for evaluating the success of surgery immediately post-operation and at specified intervals thereafter.  
  • Criteria for patient discharge, including detailed instructions on medications, their usage, and follow-up care.

Information:

  • Participants will assist in all spine endoscopic procedures alongside a Mentor surgeon during the training period. 
  • Mentors will aim to showcase as many spine endoscopic surgeries as possible and provide step-by-step demonstrations of complete spine endoscopy.
  • Please note that Sundays will be observed as a holiday.
