Unique Features of Fellowship Program

  • RASE INDIA has designed this fellowship program to equip fellows with the skills necessary for patient selection across various types of surgery, as well as understanding potential outcomes and complications.
  • This fellowship provides an opportunity for fellows to master the art and science of spinal surgery, transforming them into exceptional spine surgeons who are skilled, professional, and committed to academic excellence.
  • Fellows will learn to assess patients with diverse spinal pathologies and will be trained to make informed decisions about whether conservative or operative treatment is appropriate.
  • Throughout the program, fellows will encounter a wide range of spinal conditions and will receive hands-on surgical training under expert supervision and guidance.
  • Fellows will gain practical experience by performing essential spinal procedures such as Kyphoplasty, Vertebroplasty, Microdiscectomy, Spinal blocks, Pedicle screw instrumentation, and Spine endoscopy.

Details

Duration: Three consecutive months without interruption  
Annual Intake: 8 Fellows (1 or 2 Fellows every three months)  
Educational Eligibility: MS MCH (Neuro), DNB (Neuro), MS (Ortho), DNB (Ortho)  
Stipend: 30,000 INR per month (for Indian Fellows only)  
Faculty: Dr. Atmaranjan Dash, MS, MCH, Neurosurgery (AIIMS - Delhi)  
Hospital: Care Hospital, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar

Submission requirements: The fellow is required to submit an updated CV, two digital photos, copies of their degree and postgraduate certificates, registration with the Indian Medical Council, a working experience certificate with two references, bank account details, Aadhar card, and PAN card copies.

  • Cervical ACDF, Thoracic and Lumbar Spine
  • Congenital Spine Disorders
  • De-generative Spine Disorders
  • CVJ Anomally Correction By C1- C2 Fusion
  • Endoscopic Biportal Cervical Foraminotomy
  • Posterior Cervical Procedures
  • Thoracic Pathology, Lumbar TLIF
  • Endoscopic Biportal Fusion & Decompression
  • Unilateral Biportal Endoscopic Discectomy
  • Pain Procedures For Backpain
  • Deformity Corrections

Roles & Responsibilities During Teaching & Learning Schedule

OPD Evaluation: Diagnose based on radiology, pathology, and patient-reported pain; decision-making based on comprehensive evaluation.
Operation Theatre posting: Manage preoperative and postoperative patient care.
Handling and use of advanced instruments: Proficient use of advanced surgical instruments and instrumentation techniques.
Coordination with OT/Ward: Collaborate effectively with the operating theatre and ward teams.
Case presentation: Participate in faculty lectures and video presentations for case discussions and case presentations.
Clinical research paper: Conduct research on topics assigned by faculty, focusing on various spinal pathologies, surgical treatments, and outcomes, culminating in a conclusion. Aim to publish peer-reviewed articles under faculty guidance.
Paper submission: Submission of two research papers is mandatory during the fellowship.
Logbook maintenance: The fellow must keep a detailed logbook of activities and experiences.
Clarification of doubts: The fellow is encouraged to ask questions and clarify any uncertainties before accepting and signing this Fellowship course.

Financial liability: The fellow will incur a fee of 50,000 INR if they withdraw from the fellowship program before completion.
